Bakwena
Ba Mogopa

Guardians of Heritage, Pioneers of Progress

OUR HISTORY

The Bakwena Ba Mogopa are a resilient nation with a history etched in the soil of South Africa. Originally part of the greater Bakwena tribe, our branch—the Ba Mogopa—established our home in the North West. Our story is one of triumph over adversity; after being forcibly removed from our ancestral lands in 1984, we became a symbol of resistance, eventually becoming the first community to legally reclaim our land in 1994. Under the leadership of the Royal House and His Royal Majesty Kgosikgolo Tebogo Reneilwe Motheo Mamogale, we continue to honor the legacy of our ancestors while building a modern, self-sustaining nation

Our Vision

To transform the Bakwena Ba Mogopa villages into a thriving economic hub that balances traditional values with global industrial competitiveness in Mining, Agriculture, and Tourism.
